Reflexology

Reflexology is a system of applying pressure to certain points on the hands and feet (and occasionally the ears).

Based on the same theories of traditional Chinese medicine as acupressure, specific points on the feet and hands are regarded as corresponding to organs and tissues in the body.

Stimulating these points has a beneficial effect on the area of the body connected with the specific reflex.

Most reflexologists spend an entire therapy session working only on the hands and feet.

Due to the noninvasive nature of the therapy, reflexology is often used in situations where other types of body work are contraindicated.
